What this policy covers
This policy covers this website only. The website provides information about Ridgeset, a way to contact us and a form to sign up for early access.
Ridgeset itself is not yet available. There are no user accounts, and we do not collect training data, health data or data from Garmin or any other connected service. A separate product privacy notice will be published before anyone can create a Ridgeset account or connect an external account. The principles we are designing the product around are set out below.
Information we collect
When you visit the website
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., processes technical information that is needed to deliver pages to your browser and protect the site from abuse. This normally includes your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the date and time of the request. These server logs are kept for the period set out in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
We do not use this information to identify you, build a profile of you or track you across other websites.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and the content of your message. We use this only to read and respond to your enquiry and to keep a record of our correspondence. Our email is provided by Google Workspace (Google LLC).
We keep enquiry correspondence for two years, unless we need it longer to meet a legal obligation or to establish or defend a legal claim.
When you sign up for early access
If you sign up for early access, we collect your first name, your email address and, if you choose to tell us, the sports you train for. We also record when you signed up, the wording you agreed to, and when you confirmed your email address.
We use this to confirm your email address, and then only to email you about Ridgeset early access and launch. We use the sports you select to understand who Ridgeset is being built for. We do not use your details for anything else, and we do not sell or share them except with the service providers named below.
To stop the form being abused, the number of sign-up attempts from each IP address is limited for a short period. Your IP address is not stored with your sign-up.
If you don’t confirm your email address, we delete your details after 7 days. If you do, we delete them 12 months after you signed up, or sooner if you ask. Every email we send has a link to remove your details, or you can email info@anorthiclabs.com.
Sign-ups are stored in a database run by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, Inc., located in the European Union. Confirmation emails are sent through Cloudflare, Inc.’s email service. When you confirm, we receive a notification email with your first name and the sports you selected, but not your email address.
The website has no accounts or comment features, so we collect nothing else.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- Operating and securing the website. Our legitimate interest in providing a reliable, secure website.
- Early-access emails. Your consent, given when you sign up and confirm your email address. You can withdraw it at any time by removing your details; this doesn’t affect emails we sent before you withdrew.
- Responding to enquiries. Our legitimate interest in answering messages sent to us. Where your enquiry is about entering into a contract with us, the processing is also necessary to take steps at your request before entering into that contract.
- Legal obligations. Where we must keep or disclose information by law.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process personal data on our behalf under contract: our hosting provider, which also stores early-access sign-ups and sends our early-access emails, and our email provider, both named above. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
We do not sell personal data. We will disclose information to others only where the law requires it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Hosting data is processed in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the United States and other countries where Cloudflare operates. Early-access sign-ups are stored in the European Union, though emails we send may pass through servers in other countries on their way to you. Where data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Cookies and similar technologies
This website does not set cookies and does not use local storage, analytics, advertising pixels, embedded social media or other tracking technologies. Fonts and images are served from our own website rather than third-party services.
Your browser may cache pages and files to load the site faster. That cache stays on your device and is not used to identify you.
If we ever add cookies or analytics, we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, including UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data erased;
- restrict how we use your data;
- object to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format, where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@anorthiclabs.com. We will respond within one month. There is normally no charge.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, or 0303 123 1113.
The Ridgeset product: planned practices
This section describes how we intend the Ridgeset product to work. None of it is in operation, because the product is not yet available. It is not a description of current processing.
Ridgeset will hold training records, and may hold data from connected services such as Garmin Connect. We are designing it around these commitments:
- We will not sell users’ personal or training data.
- External accounts are connected only with the user’s explicit consent, and only the data the service needs is requested.
- Authentication and credentials for connected services are managed securely, and are not exposed to the browser.
- Data is protected with encryption and appropriate access controls.
- Users can review and disconnect connected services at any time.
- Users can delete their account and data through a clear process.
- Any AI processing, and any provider involved in it, is disclosed before it is used.
- Processing complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The product privacy notice will set out the data collected, lawful bases, service providers, international transfers, retention periods and deletion processes in full. It will be published before any account data is collected.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy when our practices change, and update the date at the top of the page.
